We have had a short interview with Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu, General President of Worldsoft for more thorough understandings of the company’s activities and successes that Mr Huu and his colleagues have achieved in the passing years.

Vietnamese Business Man (VBM): Can you please share with our readers what motivated you and your friends to establish Worldsoft Corporation?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: Any enterprise shares the same desire of applying IT products into their management practice so that their tasks could be operated in a smooth, scientific and labor-saving way. However, it is very difficult because many managers are so used to separate applications like Excel, WinWord which result in the desultory data records without a systematic database archive. With such a rudimental management, you can meet a lot of troubles in managing human resource, inventory or any other calculations. What if those data were lost? How do you think? That was the reason why my colleagues and I thought of an optimal solution so that enterprises could have the best tools for the above tasks. We are concerning about how to provide enterprises with an efficient software, with low cost and easy customization in such a fast developing IT market of Vietnam, especially in the age when Vietnam has joined the global market with WTO membership.

VBM: So what objectives were Worldsoft established upon? And how about the company’s capacities?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: In 2002, with the adequate preparation in finance, organization and human resource, we decided to establish Worldsoft with the main goal of providing high tech software solutions at lowest cost available for customers. Mastered the most up to date technologies, with a talent team of developers, we are capable of providing and developing any type of applications upon customers’ requirements, not only integrated software modules but also complete solutions.

VBM: Can you please give us a brief description of Worldsoft’s specific organizational structure and what you have done in the passing years?

Mr Nguyen Ai Huu: Worldsoft operates as a Corporation with the main office in Hochiminh City. We provide developed software for customers all over the world. Since December of 2002, in just 6 months, Worldsoft had quickly built a good reputation upon its own capacities and efforts. By the beginning of September of 2003, we have set up the first advanced software group in responding to the demands of developing software applications. With this group, our capacities have been proven and our products as well as services have satisfied customers’ demands. In the future, we plan to train, strengthen and expand our management and developer teams with professional skills so that we can provide more competitive software solutions with lowest price.

VBM: How do you determine the developing direction for Worldsoft in the upcoming period to satisfy the increasing demands of enterprises?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: To develop in the right direction and attain business efficiency, our core issue is the management task. We hire high-level management staffs with 10-20 year experiences in business management as well as software development from the US. Besides, our project managers and technical team leaders are Vietnamese American or Vietnamese high-level developers who experienced through training and working in the US. Worldsoft is currently applying the most up to date technologies which have been widely implemented in the United States software industry, such as Total Quality Management (TQM), matrix organization, or PERT/CPM models. We entrust management responsibilities on to outstanding talents who have rich experiences in software development.

VBM: What is Worldsoft’s greatest challenge, in your opinion?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: Developing software in Vietnam is not an easy task, it comes with many challenges, such as language barrier, or the lack of management or organizational skills,… Besides, there are some difficulties causing by government’s policies which result as a waste in training the workforce or administrative procedures that keep Worldsoft from awarding IT Developer Certification when we provide professional training programs. Therefore temporarily Worldsoft had to suspend the training center in for a time. This problem also left a lot of difficulties for us in expanding and reinforcing our personnel since University education does not fully meet enterprises’ demands in the quality of the workforce.

VBM: Can you please briefly review Worldsoft’s successes in the passing time?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: We are always proud of our clients’ confidence towards our software products. With the desire to fulfill customers’ demands, we have been developing a variety of products that provide the most optimal economic efficiency. Thus, Worldsoft is now entrusted and coorperated by many prestigious enterprises in and outside of Vietnam, such as G2G Telecom (USA), Miromuse (USA), Van Phat Hung Real Estate Corporation, Vaccine Institute of Nha Trang, Thai Duong Ceramics Co-operative, Tuan Phuong Electric Engineering Joint stock company, Minh Long 2 Techniques Porcelain Corporation… With such credit, our market is expanding through times. We are going to activate our brand agencies in Hue and Hanoi in just a short time.

VBM: For the last question, what advice would you want to share with the young generation in business?

Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu: Be consistent with your choice; have faith to overcome challenges to conquer your objectives. Do your best and your efforts will be well paid off .VBM: Thank you very much. We wish you health and wish Worldsoft will keep on growing stronger in the future.
