2008 is the third year that Vietnam has been in the WTO. What have Vietnamese enterprises been doing to integrate into the global market as they face severe competition? Certainly it must be the preparation on aspects of finance, human resources, facilities, as well on long term business strategy. In international integration, Vietnamese enterprises cannot simply remain fumbling with basic Word processing and Excel applications, but instead must demand high professionalism with efficient software packages to manage data in a systematic, easily accessible way that helps run the task of management more smoothly, more effectively, and at lower cost.
So, within the explosive IT market of Vietnam, what should an enterprise do to own such an efficient solution, a low cost yet perfectly suitable solution that addresses the diverse demands of enterprises today? Worldsoft Corporation was established as a response to this demand. Officially established in 2002, with its main office in Ho Chi Minh City, Worldsoft is heading the pack in assisting clients to reduce costs for high-tech software products in the fields of manufacturing, trading, import/export, services, governmental administration, hotels, and schools, to name a few. Developing software in Vietnam is not an easy task and comes with a lot of challenges, such as language barriers and the lack in management and organizational skills. Worldsoft found its approach as it organized working teams consisting of Vietnamese and foreign nationals to create a dynamic environment in which Vietnamese programmers could improve their language and technological skills.

It’s easy to see that it is not easy to set up a company, and it’s even harder to maintain and develop a business once it is set up. The company Chairman, Dr Vu Hoa Tran, has 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and professional consultation in universities and technological companies in the United States. Dr. Tran holds a B.E. degree in computer engineering, a B.S. degree in physics, and a B.S. degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA, an M.S. degree in computer engineering from Boston University, USA, and a Ph.D. in computer engineering from Columbia University. The other Founders, Mr. Thi Van Tran and Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu, are no less impressive. Mr. Thi Van Tran, General Executive Director of the company, graduated from the Technology Institute of New York and has had 30 years of experience in business management in the United States. Mr. Nguyen Ai Huu, Chief Executive Officer, has been working for 15 years in the fields of software research and development. Such outstanding talent has distinguished Worldsoft from other competitors in the field of software development, and creates special value for Worldsoft’s products which are known to be “outstandingly competitive products built on the newest technologies from the United States, at the lowest cost available.”
